MultiMode Probe Holder Selection

The following probe holders are available for use on the MultiMode 8:

Probe Holder Model # Description
MMEFCH

This stainless steel probe holder enables electric field gradient imaging for the MultiMode SPM. The holder provides electrical contact to the tip through both the probe clip and the stainless steel substrate pocket. An integrated piezo oscillates the tip for TappingMode AFM in air. This holder can also be used for Contact AFM, Magnetic Force Microscopy (MFM), and surface potential modes. This accessory includes a support note. Not compatible with LFM SPMs.

MFMA This stainless steel probe holder includes a large piezo to drive the tip for low-frequency, high amplitude force imaging in air. It can also be used for Tapping and Contact modes. This option includes a force imaging support note and a set of probes. Not compatible with LFM SPMs.
MMASPCH This probe holder supports fast scanning on the MultiMode using micro-actuated probes (probes, MPA-41202-10, must be ordered separately). NanoScope IV SPM controller required. Holder is included with the MultiMode when purchased with a NanoScope IV controller. Not compatible with LFM SPMs.
MMTRCH TRmode probe holders include dual piezos to oscillate the tip rotationally or vertically. Holders are included with TRmode purchases but are also available separately. Not compatible with LFM SPMs.
MTFML This versatile glass cell enables MultiMode users to perform TappingMode, Force Modulation, and Contact Mode experiments in liquid. The fluid cell includes two ports, required fittings, and other accessories for adding and removing fluids. A support note and sample probes are also included. Not compatible with LFM SPMs.
MMTMEC The electrochemistry tapping fluid cell has an integrated piezo for Contact Mode or TappingMode electrochemistry experiments. Three fluid ports, an electrode support post, and an entry hole for counter and reference electrodes are integrated into the glass fluid cell. This fluid cell is shipped with Luer fittings and other accessories for fluids and electrochemistry, as well as an informative support note. Requires model UNIVECPOT bipotentiostat. Not compatible with LFM SPMs.
MMTR-TUNA-CH-2 Probe holder for Application Module-equipped MultiMode. This plastic probe holder supports the CAFM, TUNA, SCM, and SSRM application modules on MultiMode SPMs. It includes integrated piezos for TappingMode and TR mode. Not compatible with LFM SPMs.
